Runway renovation

Flughafen Dresden GmbH had tendered the renovation of the runway. Besides shifting the existing runway, an increase in length to 2850 metres was planned. This 60 metres wide runway had to be built as a concrete course while maintaining flight operations.

Feasibility of the tender design and alternatives were examined as tender design. Within the nightly time window of seven hours individual steps were analysed in 15 minutes intervals and necessary personnel and equipment use had been calculated. Possible shortages of capacity of surrounding mixing plants were taken into consideration, such as influence of special security requirements in the airport area concerning transport vehicles.
