Luterbach - Improvement Railway Station Feasibility Study
Starting Point
In the agglomeration program Solothurn 2nd Generation the revaluation of the Luterbach Attisholz railway station and the improving the connection of the northern development area by via a crossing possibility of the tracks as B-action was included.
At the time of the preparation of the agglomeration program Solothurn 2nd Generation, a test planning was carried out on the former Borregaard site. The future potential for commuter traffic could not be determined at that time. It is now known that a large biotech group will settle among others, and the utilisation plan is final.
The agglomeration program Solothurn 3rd generation was passed in the fall of 2016 and the planning clarifications for the Luterbach-Attisholz railway station should meet the requirements for an A-action. For this purpose, a feasibility study with cost estimation had to be carried out.
Tasks of WAM
On behalf of the Department of Transportation and Civil Engineering (AVT) in August 2016 WAM Planers und Ingenieure have prepared a feasibility study for a north-south connection (track crossing) for the slow traffic at the railway station Luterbach-Attisholz. The following variants were checked and deposited with a rough cost estimate:
- Long-length underpass with under-crossing of tracks and Zuchwilstrasse including the allocation of factory piping in the road perimeter
- Medium-length underpass with under-crossing of tracks and Zuchwilstrasse and partial assignment of factory pipelines
- Short-length underpass under the tracks and with overground crossing of the Zuchwilstrasse
- Sky-walk over the tracks and Zuchwilerstrasse with platform access (with / without lift)
